Riding lessons

English and Western riding lessons are taught Monday through Saturday during the day and after school. Lessons are available for students of all ages and experience levels. Our experienced instructors will guide students to improve and perfect their riding skills and techniques. We want riding to be fun, but it is a serious sport and should be treated as such. Certified riding helmets are required for all students, as well as appropriate riding attire.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Lessons may be rescheduled with your instructor in the event of an unforseen changed in schedules, sickness or emergencies. Any rescheduled lesson must be made up within 7 days or the lesson credit expires. In order to reschedule, the instructor must be contacted at least 24 hours in advance of lesson time. There is a $20 rescheduling fee for changes made within 4 hours of the lesson time. Full price will be charged for any lesson not cancelled within 4 hours of its scheduled time, including cancellations, re-schedules, and nocall/no shows.

RIDING ATTIRE:

Riding helmets are required for all lesson students. We have several and are happy to provide one for you to use, but we strongly suggest that anyone serious about riding purchase their own. There are several low-cost schooling helmets on the market, we reccomend the Troxel Sport (around $30) or the Aegis adjustable (around $45) Paddock or riding boots are strongly reccomended. If you do not yet have boots, or are unsure if you are going to continue with riding, a leather shoe or boot with a low (1") heel is acceptable. Tennis shoes are not permitted for safety reasons.

Breeches, riding pants, half chaps or chaps are recommended. If you do not own chaps or riding pants, then jeans are suggested.

We teach all year as long as the weather and footing permits. We have indoor lessons on horse care, first aid, and anatomy if weather does not permit us to ride. We do reschedule when possible for weather related cancellations.

LESSONS ARE RAIN OR SHINE ( unless there are heavy rains, lightning, strong winds or school closings). Your instructor will notify you accordingly.

If you know someone who may be interested in giving riding a try, (or are a rider who wants to give someone a gift idea). pre-paid gift certificates are available for individual lessons or lesson packages.

All lesson participants must sign a waiver of liablility and complete a new rider package before starting a lesson program. (click here for printable version).

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE THAT YOU THINK WOULD MAKE A GREAT LESSON HORSE?

Talk to us about discounting your horse's board in exchange for his working a few hours a week in our lesson program. Work load would vary from horse to horse, and not all horses will qualify for this program. Our lesson horses go through a rigorous screening program and must pass testing on all types of safety as well as ability requirements. Contact us for more information. 678-442-0366
